Intermountain Furniture, a locally owned and operated company specializing in crafting high-quality living room furniture and upholstery is looking for a motivated and highly experienced Independent Sales Representative. This person will work closely with our Sales Manager and the Office to carry out all tasks related to sales funnel management and smooth order processing and is expected to meet/exceed quota expectations for the assigned territory.


Our sales representatives are expected to visit each customer 5-6 times per year. Sales reps must be available to take customer calls when retail stores are open, including evenings and Saturdays. The Roles & Responsibilities of the Independent Sales Representative include:

  • Coordinating and performing all tasks related to business development within assigned territory: lead generation (cold calls, drop ins, networking, conferences, shows etc.).
  • Managing and performing all tasks related to building and maintaining client relationships, executing sales calls according to the Intermountain Selling Procedures, and providing solutions that align with customer objectives.
  • Participating in all activities related to sales funnel management including pre-call preparation, executing sales visits, follow-up and service. 
  • Performing all administrative tasks related to sales operations including placing orders, handling service issues and customer challenges, and maintaining sales rep materials and customer POP materials.
  • Participating in a variety of activities related to strategic planning and individual and team meetings. 



The Skills and Requirements of the position include:

  • 7-10+ years outside sales experience
  • Ability to receive and process feedback effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prospect into new accounts, generate leads and bring on new customers
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Attend trade shows and conferences
  • Provide engaging customer trainings
  • Build strong relationships with customer base
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PPT
  • Detail-oriented and committed to tracking progress within CRM
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent written, verbal, phone, presentation and listening skills
